NEW PROMOTIONS AT DLG

We are pleased to announce three senior promotions; David Bailey, Mark Hewitt and Tahira Helic have been promoted to become Associate Directors.

David, 33, who joined DLG Architects in 2005 has particular expertise in masterplanning, sports, leisure and education with proven success on projects across the UK and mainland Europe. He has previously worked on projects including The National Sailing Academy in Weymouth and Portland, which is to become the 2012 Olympic Sailing Venue. David's range of projects that he is currently involved with include the £150 million transformation of The Waterfront Quarter in Huddersfield and a new boutique centre near Toulouse in France.

With more than 10 years architectural experience Mark, 36, has dedicated seven of them with DLG providing invaluable expertise in project management including high profile schemes in Leeds, Cavendish House (Basilica) and The Light, and Willing House in London. Mark maintains a significant role in a number of ongoing developments including the transformation of the listed Belle Vue Mills complex in Skipton and the redevelopment of The Becketts Arms in Meanwood, Leeds.

Tahira joined DLG in 1997 and throughout the last 10 years she has been involved in residential and commercial projects including works to listed buildings. Tahira thrives on complexity and as well as working on smaller projects has successfully completed a mixed use scheme in Birmingham comprising underground car park, cinema, bowling, shops, restaurants and residential accommodation. Her current role as project architect on the redevelopment of 14 Cornhill in the City of London has brought fresh challenges in converting a 300,000 sq ft listed building to Grade A office space which incorporates both the unique banking halls of the former Lloyds Bank headquarters and a dramatically engineered roof extension.
